How to Dry Your Idol Costume

Costumes all clean? Here are ways to dry it!

Dryer Method

Place the pieces in the dryer. It's recommended to keep the color groups sorted. You can place 2-3 loosely crumpled balls of aluminum foil to reduce static. Dryer sheets may ruin the fabric finish. Recommended Settings Heat: Medium/Low Time: About 45-60 minutes Lighter fabrics require lower heat settings and less time. Heavier fabrics will need more time. You can also search the best dryer treatment for the fabric type.

Air Dry

Any metal pieces should be dried immediately (with a towel, hair dryer on the cold setting, etc) to avoid rusting. Rust is caused by slow air drying of moisture off metal.

If your fabric is lighter, you may hang dry.

If your fabric is heavier, lay the clothes flat. It's not recommended to hang-dry, as the waterlogged fabric will weigh down on the stitches and the stitches may come loose.

Do not place it in direct sunlight, as the sun can bleach the colors unevenly.

Bonus: Ironing

For best results, search up the specific fabric type and iron settings. For all fabrics, do not iron over metallic, screen-printed, vinyl, embroidered, or other decals directly.
