What You Should Know About Auditioning
Submitting an audition
does not automatically commit you to the team. It just expresses interest
in joining.
If you receive an invitation to join, we can discuss logistics before solidifying your place on
the team.
You may submit an audition even if you are not 100% certain you will be able to join the upcoming
meet.
1 CODE:MiAO opens auditions. Information is posted on when and how to audition below. There may be varied specific guidelines and requirements for each generation. You may take this time to read about our most up to date team operations. Feel free to ask questions and share concerns about joining.
2 Auditions are submitted. Auditions are reviewed by the team through the closing date. If there is no close date, auditions will be processed on a rolling basis until the position(s) are filled or the team's logistics no longer can support additional new members.
3 If you have been accepted, CODE:MiAO will reach out via email to offer you a cordial invitation to join the team. If necessary, you may discuss with the leader about if the team is right for you, arrangements that will be necessary, and any other concerns. If you have not been accepted or you turn down the invitation, you are free to audition at the next generation and/or apply as a staff member.

Category
This team can be categorized as "dance idol", "alternative idol", "kaigai/overseas/international idol", and "odottemita/odorite". Some members are interested in occasionally singing vocal covers together. At the moment, we do not produce music, but we are open to it!
We are inspired by both Japanese idol industry and videos uploaded under the "odottemita" (or "tried to dance") category on NicoNicoDouga, a Japanese video sharing website.
Creative Focus
We are a creative based group who aims to collaboratively cover dances and release original choreography! Sometimes we like to include a unique storyboard, cinematics, and PV camera shots in videos. We also aim to collaboratively arrange special, unique live performances that deliver an exciting experience to the audience. Finally, we are a fashion forward team featuring original uniform designs whenever we can while presenting as our own original persona (not cosplaying a character).
Genre
Primarily Vocal Software, Vocalo Producer, and Japanese music based with occasional other genre idol and J-media content. Our musical subgenre is not defined. We tackle lots of subgenres such as pop, dance, edm, rock, and more! Some examples of artists and industries are listed below.
