How to Learn Dances Quickly!

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

Awhile back people asked for dance advice, so I've finally sat down to detail how to learn dances quickly!

This video is a good summary of helpful advice. The channel is full of resources for how to learn foundational skills for odottemita moves you may be struggling with (like SLH or ATY choreo). Here's a good video that explains how to improve the time it takes to learn choreography:

In short, the secret is to nail foundational moves.

To learn foundational moves in odottemita, you can search up tutorials for specific moves or styles on YouTube.

Dance styles in odottemita:

Jazz (some Miume)

In break dance, stylehead moves are the non-acrobatic/power moves like footwork and top rock. In Anatashia, this is Masato's official title. In Japanese, they refer to him as "standing dancer". In English, this is called a "stylehead".

And lastly, I’ve seen the odottemita style outside of all of these styles referred to as フいスタイル (freestyle) and what we typically call “freestyling” in English is called “improvisation dance” or “improvisation choreography” but it was only a couple of times. Most noteworthy, was in a video showcasing the various styles of odottemita. I think people have started just calling it idol style? I would love to know if you have any knowledge on the subject!
