INSPIRATION
It was during the late night practice on Day 2 of the meetup, Baby Maniacs (with EllieS, Dandy, Lightning, and Flo), when CM and Azzy had some downtime -- perfect for doing a makeup test.
Initially, CM was assigned to do Azzy's makeup for the show day. Azzy showed CM a screenshot from the makeup tutorial for the inspiration of the look.
After conducting an initial swatch test of all the colors in the palette, CM selected the five shades annotated in the photo and two brushes from her kit to gift to Azzy.
The matte navy blue was edged into Azzy's crease for a traditional cut crease technique. The silver foil was packed into the inner corners, teal foil on to the middle of the lid, and cobalt foil on to the outer corners. The middle foil blended the cobalt and teal shades. CM also deepened the outer corners with the matte navy shadow. The finish was very sparkly and reflective -- a bold look for sure.
CM experimented with some other makeup. She applied the pastel bubblegum pink from the Pink Paradise palette to Azzy's cheeks for a light flush of colored highlight. It was subtle and brightening.
She also tried adding some rosey brown lipstick to complete the look, but Azzy felt the darker color took away from the snowflake eyes, and it was cut from the final look.
However, come day of the event, the morning was a hectic hustle and bustle. The team was already running overtime. In general, CM takes the longest to get ready.
"Are you able to do your own makeup, or would you prefer if I did it?" CM asked, while speed-blending her eyeshadow.
Azzy, who had already finished helping Dandy make breakfast and lunch for the team (cream cheese bagels with spinach and turkey pesto sandwiches, respectively), was vibing out in Dandy's living room. Dandy had already taken Flo and EllieS to meet Kai and Sol (our staff for the day) at the film location. CM perched at the dining room table, Lightning hid upstairs in a bedroom lining her lightning bolt, and Azzy took to a golden mirror hanging on the wall near CM to set up her station.
When it came to doing her own eyeshadow, Azzy did a simpler and more time-efficient rendition. She opted to use the teal foil all over the lid and the matte navy in the crease. The look gave her preppy look a cool attitude.
