"Should I just say you were inspired by David Bowie?" CM joked, noting the icon's prominent appearance in Lightning's makeup inspiration Pinterest board.
When it came to makeup, Lightning was sure she wanted to put a lightning bolt on her face. Even before the concept of magical girls was chosen, it was a part of her dance persona she wanted to portray in her style. She'd set out researching the best electric blue liners. From liquid to gel, matte to glitter, high end and drugstore, she'd set on using a water activated liner from HexBaby.
The outline was done with the HexBaby Lucid Liner, while the pink shading was done with the MiAo palette - that is, Pinky Rose Pink Paradise. Together, the colorblock look created a vibe just as striking as the dancer's name.
The morning of, Lightning kept coming back to deposit more product into her makeup plate. She'd gone up and down the stairs a total of three times for her refill!
Leading up to the film date, Lightning had practiced the look a couple times and sent some progress photos in the chat.
