Staff
The members of Code:Miao who work behind the scenes. Some of them are dancers and idols too, but outside of Code:Miao! The team uses this term on other groups as well to distinguish the publicly represented idols from the behind the scenes staff (who may or may not be idols themselves).

OPERATIONS
Major Documents
MegaDoc
The main Google Sheet document all primary project planning goes on. Used for song voting, show setlists, dance casting, packing lists, meetup scheduling, and more. Only sheets that are actively being used are in this document. This document hosts comments and complex formulas.
Sheets Archive
To reduce the file size and load time of the MegaDoc, all sheets that will no longer actively be used are copied into another Google Sheet document for archive purposes. Typically, the data is static and does not react to any formulas.
Formation Doc / Transition Doc
The document detailing all formations, blocking, and choreography changes (with timestamps, pictures, and video references) for the next performance or film meetup.
Costume Doc
The Google Sheet document containing members’ costume measurements and design preferences, makeup ownership, and shareable makeup.
Voting System
Vote(s) / Sign Up(s)
The count of how many people showed interest in a dance by marking it with an "o", "x", or "v" (did not leave the slot blank). When it comes to voting for the dances the team will do next, these terms are used almost interchangably. A "sign up" is thought of more as an interest indicator than a committment. Similarly, a "vote" indicates desire for something to become incorporated into the group. Often, votes for dances are referred to as "sign ups" because it is expected that if the dancer votes for the song, they will very likely be casted into the dance if it passes. This isn't always true, but it happens most of the time.
The team uses a 4-tier voting system:
O vote
In the MegaDoc, this is a vote for a dance that you love. This type of vote pushes the total voting score upwards. This vote is treated as a "yes."
X vote
In the MegaDoc, this is a regular vote for a dance that you are open to doing. This vote is treated as a "yes."
V vote
In the MegaDoc, this is a vote casted for a dance you would “rather not do”. A mild vote for a dance that is slightly more tolerable to compromise than a hard pass. This vote still counts as a “no”.
Blank Vote
In the MegaDoc, this is a lack of a vote, indicating “absolutely not.”
Members vote by typing one of the letters (or leaving a blank) into their Google Sheets column. The cell then auto-populates with their member color. The darker the shade of their member color, the more interested in the song or dance the member is. The letters do not stand for anything and were randomly selected. The letters were assigned a numerical value to help calculate the score of the votes (via a complex formula designed by CM).
Force Sign Up
When a member leaves their vote slot for a particular dance blank but is casted into a dance anyway. The dancer is always asked permission first. Sometimes members negotiate a compromise of some sort.

DANCE
Phase / P1 / P2 / P3 / ...
Typically, the team schedules for members to learn the same dance, with a practice video due by a specific deadline. Members can submit as many practice/progress videos as they'd like until the deadline. The final practice video submitted for the dance progress deadline is referred to as the Phase video. These are numbered, with the first deadline video being Phase 1 (P1), the second Phase 2 (P2), and so on. Typically the team does 1-3 per dance, depending on how many are needed to synchronize and how much time there is before the film meetup or performance. The team refers to these videos as Phase videos to distinguish the final video from the other practices to be analyzed for improvements. It is a "phase" in the team's progressional timeline.
Mashup
All phase videos are split screened into a single video, referred to as the Mashup. Sometimes it is referred to as the Phase 1 Mashup or P1 Mashup, and so on. The Mashup is used for monitoring member synchronization. Typically the team publishes a mirrored and nonmirrored version.
Sync Notes
An analysis of the Mashup that details improvements for members to incorporate into their practice and submit in the next Phase video.

Transformation Uniform / Uniform / Costumes
The cobalt blue and neon pink uniforms the team wears. The team has a magical cat concept, and this uniform is the uniform the cat hybrids wear when transformed into a magical girl/boy/enby. The uniform consists of special cat eats, a vest, a bottom piece, black gloves, a bow & bell choker, a name tag, holographic Code:Miao logo pins, and accessories.
Pre-Transformation Outfit
An outfit outside of the cobalt blue and neon pink uniforms that a member may wear. This consists of plain cat ears and any outfit. Typically, their member color is worn somewhere.
Costume Pieces
Base Outfit
The transformation uniforms were not designed to be standalone garments. They are to be worn on top of another outfit. The dancer's own clothing worn under the uniform is referred to as the base outfit. Base outfits are selected by the members following a published guide for each project. They do not have to be the same each time the uniform is worn.
Example 1: The posted costume guideline states the base outfit should be all black clothing.
Example 2: EllieS packed three base outfits - one for each day of filming - that way she doesn't have to do laundry every night.
Vest / Jacket / Top
The cobalt blue top of the Miao Transformation Uniform. Most members' uniforms have functional buttons.
Skirt / Bottom
The cobalt blue bottom of the Miao Transformation Uniform. Not all bottom pieces are actually skirts, but all of them are referred to as skirts.

Some members have both an organza underskirt and a cobalt blue bottom piece (skirt). Whether or not this underpiece is a petticoat, it is referred to as such.
Name Tag
A 3D printed pin with a heart in the member's color. It may be pinned anywhere on the uniform.
Cat Prisms
